Hello everyone. My major is applied chemistry, and I have an associate degree. I currently work at a coking plant. I would like to obtain a certificate that could be useful in the future, but I’m not sure which one to get. Could you please give me some advice? Also, let’s discuss what path chemists should take
You have an associate degree; it depends on the direction you want to pursue. Once that direction is determined, it will become clear which certificates are useful to obtain. If you plan to pursue a career in coking plants in the future, it depends on the circumstances: if you stay in that department, then obtain a professional certification ； If you want to work as a manager or something in an administrative department, then you need to take exams related to administration~~~ As you said, never envy others; just follow your own path. Be sure to think it through carefully~ We are adults now, and we need to take responsibility for our own future and our own decisions
You can work as a safety officer, but you won’t be able to take the exam until three years later
It’s best to decide one’s own path; the path one chooses must be followed to the end, even if one has to do so on their knees

Reply to 3# *ewei520240: Thank you. The role of safety officer depends on the company as well; I used to work as a safety officer at my previous employer. But here, I don’t yet meet the requirements to be a safety officer, haha! !
Three years? My classmate became an assistant engineer after just one year and was then able to take the exam~ It’s the same here at school as well~
