A project engineer, in simple terms, is an assistant to the project manager. The responsibilities of the job aren’t particularly limited; it depends mainly on the trust the project manager has in you.

The definition of the position of project engineer is one thing, but whether it can be carried out effectively is another. Experienced and competent project engineers can handle and share the workload of the project manager, of course under the project manager’s authorization. If there are inexperienced newcomers, they can only do tasks equivalent to those of a project secretary, such as managing documents, notifying about meetings, and sending faxes.
