=========== “Is “air flotation” equivalent to “micro-porous aeration”? ===========
A water treatment method that causes suspended solids to attach to bubbles and rise to the surface, thereby separating water from the suspended solids. Air flotation also involves causing surfactants in water to attach to the surface of bubbles, allowing them to rise to the surface and separate from the water; this is known as foam flotation. The equipment used in the air flotation method includes the air flotation tank that carries out the separation process, as well as the auxiliary equipment that generates bubbles. Common methods for generating microbubbles include aeration flotation and dissolved air flotation. Micro-porous aeration is a method of oxygenation using forced aeration. The selection of aeration methods not only affects the efficiency of biological wastewater treatment but also influences the land area required for the wastewater treatment plant, as well as the investment and operating costs. Conceptually, there is a significant difference between the two: the former is primarily a type of physical treatment method and constitutes a complete treatment unit, whereas the latter is merely a specific means, method, or device within that treatment unit. In terms of aeration, micro-porous aeration can be used in air flotation; or rather, the latter is a component of the former. But the scope of the former is much larger than that of the latter.
