There is a chlorine water atomization spray device before the first-stage titanium cooling and another one after the second-stage titanium cooling in the chlorine treatment unit. I would like to know what shape the nozzles of these spray devices are, what material they are made of, and whether they are similar to the nozzles with many holes used in bathtubs. Also, is it necessary to use such nozzles, and do they serve any important purpose? Thank you. # + +
The last edit to this post was made by Yino Zhang on 2011-8-24 at 11:16. No way – in our process after titanium cooling, there seems to be no such “chlorine water atomization spray device”. Before titanium cooling, there is a chlorine water scrubber tower that uses chlorine water for spraying and washing the chlorine gas; in this case, the gas and liquid mix directly to achieve mass and heat transfer. But after titanium cooling, spraying should stop, as otherwise too much water will be used, and the purpose of titanium cooling would be lost. As for the shape of the nozzle, I’ve never seen it either; it should be similar to a shower nozzle.
Reply to 2# xo32: The spraying device in a chlorine scrubber tower usually consists of a liquid distributor designed for use in towers; these distributors are typically made of titanium. Their structure is that of a tower-type liquid distributor, and the goal is simply to ensure even distribution of the chlorine solution – there’s nothing particularly complex about it
Reply to 1# Sponge hm: It is mainly for safety reasons, to prevent backflow of dry chlorine from causing problems with the titanium. So, since it has been designed in this way, it’s best to keep it. Currently, many operating chlorine treatment units do not have this spraying device. In fact, one can imagine under what circumstances backflow of dry chlorine gas might occur If the process design is reasonable, it can be said that atomized spraying isn’t very useful.

In front of the primary titanium cooler, there is a spray distributor inside the washing tower; this device is used to spray chlorine water evenly and to increase the contact area with chlorine gas, thereby achieving a better cooling effect as well as more effective removal of salts. 2. Behind the secondary titanium cooler, there is a water mist collector designed to absorb the moisture contained in chlorine gas, so as to achieve a certain level of purity for the chlorine gas. The moisture absorbed from the chlorine water is then recycled back to the washing tower for reuse.
