What is the difference between electro-hydraulic valves and solenoid valves? Are their instrumentation symbols both represented by S?
It should be a relationship of inclusion and being included, I guess. Waiting for an expert to explain.
A solenoid valve operates by having its spool move in response to an electric signal, thereby directly controlling the circuit. An electro-hydraulic valve, on the other hand, is a combination of a solenoid valve and a hydraulically controlled main valve; the solenoid valve controls the flow of oil into the control ports of the main valve, thus enabling the main valve to change direction and functioning as a component capable of handling high pressure and large flow rates. When reversal failure occurs, first check the solenoid valve above, and then check the main valve.

Solenoid valves and electro-hydraulic valves are both electrically driven, but solenoid valves can be used in various applications involving gases, liquids, etc., and they can serve to cut off or redirect flow; A electro-hydraulic valve consists of solenoid valves (usually several) and hydraulic valves; its main function is to convert electrical signals into pressure signals of the fluid. It is widely used in machinery systems, for example, to control primary oil, secondary oil, shutoff oil, quick-shut oil, etc. The symbols used are merely indicators, and they may vary among different manufacturers and design institutes.
