The water cooler in the compressor lubricating oil system developed an internal leak, causing water to accumulate in the crankcase; the water has now been drained. The time is about 24 hours. Are there any other treatments required for components such as the crankshaft?
Water must not enter the oil used in the compressor system’s circulation; once there is a leak in the oil cooling system, the entire amount of oil in the system must be replaced. After adding water into the crankcase, first wipe it clean with a cloth (cotton-containing cloths are not allowed), and then blow it dry with compressed air (including any water accumulated in the lowest points of the oil system pipes). The new oil replaced should preferably be filtered through an oil filter first. Then, run the oil pump for about 6 hours to check the filtration performance of the fine filter, and take samples of the oil for analysis to determine whether it meets the quality requirements. If everything is normal, the compressor can be started in accordance with the operating procedures.

This degraded oil may enter the oil passages within the crankshaft as well as the gaps between various lubricated components (such as the gaps between the crankshaft and the connecting rod big end bearings). Even after the engine has been shut down for some time, a small amount of this degraded lubricating oil remains in these areas. If it is not cleaned away, it can have an adverse effect on the lubricated components during operation. Therefore, it is best to clean out any residual oil from the crankcase, oil pump, cooler, filters, and oil lines first, then use compressed air to blow away the remaining oil from the oil passages and the gaps in various lubrication components, before adding new lubricating oil.
If time is tight, you can drive first after changing the oil; draining water from the tank and refilling it with oil should not be a problem.
