What are the structural differences between 2-pole 15KW outdoor tropical corrosion-resistant motors of the eIIT3/IP54 type (WTHF1) and ordinary eIIT3/IP54 motors? What is the price difference? It would be great if detailed information on various types of outdoor motors could be provided.
The issue of protection ratings you mentioned is generally related to the coating of the motor. When manufacturers request quotes, they specify fixed percentage increases for codes such as W/TH/F1; for example, the increase for F1 is around 6% within a certain range. Each code comes with its own specified percentage increase. If you are the client, the situation is different, and I can’t give you exact figures. However, there are some cases where no increase applies – for instance, the price remains the same for ratings below IP55. As for motors with an IP54 rating, it’s essentially the same as those with an IP55 rating. The information I’ve mentioned applies to China’s two major motor manufacturers; I can’t say the same for others
