In our company’s liquid chlorine production process, a liquid chlorine intermediate tank is used, and Lawrence pumps are employed for transportation. There is a shut-off valve on the pipeline leading to the liquid chlorine intermediate tank; these valves are of imported quality, and they perform well; Cut-off valves manufactured by joint venture factories were also used, but the results were poor; a chlorine leak occurred within less than a year of use. At present, there is no liquid chlorine shut-off valve installed at the outlet of the liquid chlorine tank at its bottom. Every time the safety inspection authorities conduct inspections, they require that such a shut-off valve be installed. We would like to use domestically produced shut-off valves; please share with us information regarding the manufacturers of the shut-off valves used in your factories and their performance. May I ask which brand it is abroad for the original poster? If there are good options abroad, why use those available domestically? The requirements for valves on the pipelines carrying liquid chlorine must be very high.
Were you originally using PTFE-lined or alloy steel? Was the valve structure originally a disc valve or a ball valve?
Are you using pneumatic, electric control valves or manual stop valves? We are using manual stop valves, valves specifically designed for chlorine, from Jiangsu Mingjiang. Replace it every two years.
