Shell’s gasification technology is one of the most advanced gasification technologies in the world. Its efficient utilization rate of coal can exceed 95% ； The fly ash produced by its gasification contains almost no carbon, and the residual carbon in the slag is also only around 1%, generally not exceeding 3%; it can therefore be used in the same way as coal ash from power plants as an admixture in cement.
Fly ash and slag are essentially useless – they have no taste when consumed and it’s a shame to discard them. If not handled properly, it can also affect the environment ； The use of it in areas such as brick manufacturing is still not very mature. Since brick manufacturers incur costs for purchasing slag and fly ash, it is better to use local soil instead. If it’s free, even the manufacturers of fly ash and slag won’t do it ； In short, so-called environmental benefits of the SHELL furnace are relative; compared to other manufacturers, it simply has a higher production capacity, with no other advantages.
