Should a filter be installed before the trap?

Recently, at the construction site, it was found that a Y-type filter was not installed before the steam trap as required by the PID specifications. We are using float-type steam traps; I heard that there are steam traps that come with built-in filtering capabilities
A filter needs to be installed before the trap, especially in newly constructed systems; even after purging, it is not guaranteed that there are no impurities left. If such impurities enter the trap, it will prevent the trap from functioning properly.
