The prospects of chemical engineering design and nuclear power design

As the title suggests, I would like to ask what the prospects are for chemical engineering design and nuclear power design at the moment I’m currently working on nuclear power design, and I feel that there’s not much to learn – there’s little opportunity for independent design work; essentially, I just modify existing models (I started in the design industry by working on nuclear power projects right away). I also want to ask what knowledge is needed for chemical engineering design, and whether one has to travel a lot after starting such work? Thank you
There are few people who work on nuclear power design, right? The original poster should not be impatient; it takes at least 5 years in any field before one can gradually gain an understanding of it.
