How to make good use of English as a tool

Although I passed the CET-4 and CET-6 during my school days, I found that what I learned was just \"mute English\" when I started working； I can understand it but can’t speak it; my listening skills are just average ； English is an important communication tool in real-world work. However, how can we overcome the problem of being unable to use English effectively? How can we make the most of this tool? These are questions worth discussing.
