Where can I find emergency relief valves used on oil tanks? Please recommend a suitable manufacturer.
Tianjin Jingkai Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The emergency relief valve is a safety device for storage tanks that provides the function of emergency pressure and gas release. When the pressure in the storage tank rises sharply due to external forces or internal factors to the rated pressure, the emergency relief valve then releases the excess pressure. When the pressure returns to the set value, the cover closes again, thereby maintaining a constant pressure inside the tank.

An emergency pressure relief valve is a protective device for storage tanks that is used when the normal operation of the breathing valve is insufficient to address sudden overpressure or vacuum conditions in the tank resulting from accidents. An important device that prevents storage tanks from bursting or denting due to overpressure in emergency situations. This valve differs from domestic breathing manholes in that its structural design and material selection are both carried out in accordance with API 2000 standards. In terms of sealing materials, domestic breathing manholes differ from emergency relief valves. Breathing manholes typically use polytetrafluoroethylene air gaskets for sealing; the drawback of this type of sealing is that it is not very secure, which can lead to evaporation and loss of materials. On the other hand, emergency relief valves employ soft diaphragm seals, and the support plates are designed with sealing grooves. Compared to polytetrafluoroethylene air gasket sealing, this soft sealing method does not cause leakage issues. Structurally, the pressure relief valve is more reasonable in design compared to the breathing manhole; with the weight plate located externally, maintenance after use is simpler compared to systems where the counterweight is built into the breathing manhole. The emergency pressure relief valve serves as a protection device for storage tanks in case of accidents or sudden changes in vacuum pressure. It prevents overpressure or depressurization in the tank, thereby protecting critical equipment from damage. These valves differ from those with breathing manholes in other countries, as their structural design and material selection are carried out in accordance with API2000 standards. Regarding the sealing materials, they differ from those used in domestic emergency relief valves with breathing manholes – those valves typically use an air cushion along with a PTFE seal; however, this approach has the drawback of potentially leading to material evaporation and leakage. In contrast, the emergency relief valve uses a soft diaphragm seal with a sealing groove, and such a soft seal does not cause leakage problems.
