Have questions about plate heat exchangers?

This post was last edited by lizhenpeng on 2011-9-1 22:44. Plate heat exchangers are generally installed after the pump’s outlet; why can’t they be installed before the pump’s inlet?
Better, right? It seems it should be determined based on different process requirements.
This is determined based on the actual manufacturing process; in our case, it is installed in front of the pump inlet!
It is generally installed at the outlet to achieve the cooling requirements of the process; installing it at the inlet serves no purpose.
The one in our unit is also installed at the pump inlet; it’s a synthetic ammonia decarburization solution. This heat exchanger is cooled by cooling water, so as to prevent cavitation in the pump caused by high inlet temperatures.
