What types of water are used in fertilizer production (groundwater, river water, lake water, etc.)? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type of water? What kind of water is currently preferred for replenishing production water?
Groundwater, river water, and lake water can all be used; it depends on the availability of water resources in the area surrounding the installation site. Using local water sources can help reduce production costs. There is no good or bad. In principle, the lower the turbidity, the more cost savings are achieved in production. Various types of water that have not undergone any treatment are called raw water. The turbidity is relatively high; depending on the climate, it can reach several dozen PPM. Through pretreatment processes such as sedimentation, chemical coagulation, and siphon filtration, the turbidity can be reduced to below 5 PPM, making it suitable for use as makeup water in closed-loop systems. If it is to be used as boiler water, a desalination process is also required.
