The unit has a pump; its dynamic and static rings as well as all the O-rings have just been replaced. There was slight leakage at the beginning of operation, but by the second day, there would be a large amount of leakage in one go, followed by no leakage for about ten seconds, before leakage occurred again. What is the reason for this?
It’s okay if there is a slight leak right after installation; but if leakage occurs after just one day of operation, it indicates that the installation wasn’t proper. Check the several sealing points of the mechanical seal – if the leakage is intermittent and significant, the problem might lie in the seal between the stationary and rotating rings. It’s also worth considering whether the axial movement and the compression amount of the mechanical seal are appropriate. Additionally, a sudden increase in operating pressure could also be the cause
Check whether there may be size differences between the old and new seal rings, which could result in insufficient compression and leakage.
Reply to 1# zzlwqj: What kind of pressure is it? Is it due to insufficient compression or unstable system pressure? A balanced mechanical seal can be chosen
It may be that the follow-up performance of the sealing pair is poor; check the movement characteristics of the auxiliary seal and the elastic elements
