Under the same load, the production volume of our plant’s 100,000-ton sulfuric acid production line has decreased significantly compared to before – it used to produce 280–290 tons, but now it only produces 240–250 tons. The negative pressure at the fan inlet remains at -2.5 kp, while the pressure in the second absorption tower is around 7.5 kp. Additionally, apart from an increase in the pressure difference in the first stage, the pressure differences in all other stages have decreased. I would like to ask the experts what the reason is?
There are 7 at the inlet of the second absorption tower. 5, Is it that high? That can’t be right, haha; the air flow might be a bit low, which causes a slight decrease in the pressure drop across all the devices. That makes sense! ! !
If the pressure difference in one section is high while that in the other sections is low, it is likely that one of those sections is blocked, resulting in a reduced overall flow of gas. The cause of the blockage can be found in the measurement data; where the pressure difference increases, there is a higher likelihood of blockage. It could also be a catalyst, or it could be a heat exchanger.
Is the amount of sulfur spraying at your factory still the same? Let’s take another look at the SO2 emission level from the chimneys. Sulfur does not disappear on its own.
It is recommended that you verify the resistance of each device on-site, and develop a shutdown and maintenance plan to eliminate these resistances. Based on what you’ve described, it’s likely that one of the catalysts is blocked.
