How to remove light components during methanol distillation? There is only one tower (methanol recovery distillation)
Reply to 1# waterkingsb: a reboiler, a top condenser, and a tower will suffice. No return pumps are needed. A pneumatic control valve at the outlet of the cooler’s meteorological pipeline will suffice. The requirements for methanol are not high; it’s not going to be MTO grade, right?

One tower is a bit much, isn’t it? While removing the light components, a large amount of methanol vapor is also released.
Reply to 4#: I believe it’s possible to recover the methanol vapor in the light components; this recovery process has nothing to do with the number of towers used! ?
Can it be removed inside the pre-tower? This can be achieved by controlling the flow rate and pressure of the vent gas.

After distillation, the purity of methanol is required to be above 99%; the heavy components are water and other impurities, while the light components may include substances such as acetaldehyde. Currently, the purity of methanol is only around 97% – so how can these light components be removed?
If, as required, the extra 2% consists of light components, then that’s fine. Slightly increase the reflux temperature. If not, then it’s not
Add an enterprise separator to the reflux tank to remove the light components from the top of the separator.
