According to information found on Baidu, the 50,000-ton per year butyl rubber production project of Formosa Synthetic Rubber Industry (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. successfully passed the safety facility design review. On May 19, 2011, this project passed the safety design review conducted by the safety supervision agencies at both the Ningbo city level and the Beilun district level. Formosa Synthetic Rubber Industry (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned Taiwanese enterprise established by Formosa Synthetic Rubber Industry (**) Co., Ltd. in the Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone. Formosa Synthetic Rubber Industry (**)** Co., Ltd. was established in June 2009. It is a company set up by Formosa Synthetic Rubber Industry Co., Ltd. in ** specifically for economic and trade activities as well as professional investments among Taiwan, **, and the Chinese mainland; it is also the investor behind this project. The project is located in the Formosa Plastics Petrochemical Zone in Xiapu Sub-district, Beilun District, Ningbo. With an investment of 1.922 billion yuan and covering an area of 238.7 mu, it is designed to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of butyl rubber. The manufacturing technology comes from Italy, and construction is scheduled to begin in September this year.
