Regarding pipeline welding

I saw the welding of hydrogen pipelines today; why can some sections of the same pipeline be welded using electrodes, while others are welded in a color similar to that of copper wire? Is there any difference between the two? Is it better than welding with electrodes?
The copper wire you mentioned is probably the TIG welding wire. Surface copper plating.
It seems so; I guess that’s right. What’s the difference between it and ordinary welding?

The materials used for welding include welding wire as well as electrodes; the thing that looks like copper wire is one of the materials used for welding
This involves using TIG welding for the base layer, followed by welding with MIG welding for the surface layer
I also noticed that there are boiler installations at the construction site here; they use TIG welding as well as conventional electric welding – probably due to the requirements of the manufacturing process

It is related to the wall thickness and the diameter of the tube. For pipes with a small diameter, argon arc surfacing is applied directly. If the diameter is large, argon-electric welding is used.
It has a lot to do with the process medium – corrosion, cleanliness requirements, and so on
