The Xingtai plant of Ruiyang now has a production capacity of 4.2 million tons of coke per year, 500,000 tons of refined tar (including 300,000 tons under construction), 200,000 tons of benzene hydrogenation products, and 200,000 tons of methanol; it can also supply 800 million cubic meters of city gas. In 2009, sales revenue reached 7.2 billion yuan, with profits and taxes amounting to 770 million yuan. In 2010, sales revenue was expected to reach 12 billion yuan, with profits and taxes amounting to 900 million yuan. Within the park, crude benzene produced during the coking process can be processed through benzene hydrogenation to yield six new products, including pure benzene, toluene, and xylene. “In addition, the gas produced during coke production is used to manufacture methanol, while tar is processed further to produce 14 different products. According to the plan, during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the Xuyang Xingtai industrial park will follow a development strategy focused on strengthening and expanding its operations, reducing energy consumption and emissions, fostering independent innovation, building core competitive advantages, pursuing high-end development, advancing upgrades, and establishing a modern logistics system. Based on coking operations, it aims to become the largest single coking enterprise in the country ； Focusing on the three main sectors of methanol production from gas, crude benzene refining, and coal tar processing, we will develop advanced processing industries to create a **-level circular economy demonstration zone ； Relying on the Hebei Province Coal Chemical Engineering Technology Research Center, a **-level coal chemical research center will be established. Over the next five years, 30 projects will be constructed here, including four phases of coking facilities, 300,000 tons of methanol production capacity, 100,000 tons of polyoxymethylene production capacity, 400,000 tons of advanced tar processing facilities, and 1,000 tons of asphalt-based carbon fiber production capacity, with a total investment of 17.5 billion yuan. Yang Xinpo, deputy manager of the Planning and Development Department at Xuyang Xingtai Industrial Park, said that once these projects are completed, they will generate an additional annual sales revenue of 39.7 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 6.6 billion yuan. By the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the sales revenue of Xuyang Xingtai Industrial Park is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan, with annual profits and taxes reaching over 7.5 billion yuan, while creating more than 8,000 jobs. As we move forward into the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the Xuyang Xingtai industrial park is bound to open up new prospects.
