Why are greases generally used in vertical pumps, and what are the advantages of using them compared to lubricating oils? Thank you all for your advice!
Whether to use lubricating oil or grease is mainly determined by the linear speed of the rotating parts; for high speeds, lubricating oil is definitely the choice! It’s just that the speed of the vertical pumps you encounter is relatively low!

These pumps are typically used in situations where the temperature of the medium is not high. If the medium temperature is very high, the effectiveness of grease decreases, and oil lubrication should be considered.
I agree with the opinion from the third floor: it’s not possible to store oil in vertical pumps; grease is a better option.
Generally speaking, oil is better than grease; for vertical pumps, we also usually require oil.

Small devices generally generate little heat and have a low load. Lipid lubrication is sufficient to meet the requirements; there is no need for the costly oil lubrication
It depends on the type of vertical pump; high-speed pumps are vertical pumps, as are long-shaft submersible pumps. High-speed pumps require not only oil lubrication but also forced oil lubrication
Horizontal pumps can also use grease; we have converted most of our pumps from oil to grease.
