In a chemical engineering design, which software is generally needed from start to finish? What is the function of each software? For example, what software is used to draw PID diagrams, what software is used to create pipe layout and equipment layout drawings, and what software is available for tracking data related to painting, insulation, and special fittings?
Software download address (to be used in conjunction with CAD): http://www.fs2you.com/files/6b3a4be3-481c-11dd-8104-0014221f4662/ Installation of the PID diagram drawing software for chemical engineering design institutes: 1. First, unzip this software package to your local hard drive; it is assumed here that the files will be unzipped in the D:\CTCAD directory. 2. In the menu of AUTOCAD 2000, select “Tools” -> “Options”. Under the “Files” tab, choose “Support File Search Path”. Use the “ADD” command to add a new path, “D:\CTCAD”, and then add another one, “D:\CTCAD\DWG”. Once done, select “OK” to exit. 3. In Autocad 2000’s menu, select “Tools” -> “Custom Menu”. Under the “Menu Groups” tab, choose the “Brows” command. In the window that appears, select the path D:\CTCAD, choose CTCAD.mnc, and then click “Open”. Return to the upper-level interface and select “LOAD”. Under the “menu bar” tab, select “CTCAD” from the Menu Group; choose “PID” from MENUS and use INSERT>> to add it after “EXPRESS” on the right side. Then select “CLOSE” to return to the main interface. 4. In AUTOCAD 2000, go to “Tools” and select “Load Application”. Locate D:\CTCAD\PP.LSP and choose LOAD. A message box will appear stating “PP.LSP successfully loaded.” Click “CLOSE”. 5. Reopen AUTOCAD 2000 – everything should be fine. There are many software programs available for drawing PID diagrams ; 1. Smartplant PID 2. Autoplant PID 3. COADE CADWORX PID 4. Pro-CAD AutoFlow 5. Others. Found online; for reference only.

Reply 1# Billent: AUTO CAD is generally used for drawing
Our company uses CAD; I think other design firms also use CAD, right?
Why can’t I open it? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Oh, everyone’s responses are quite simple; I still don’t quite understand! The software I'm referring to includes CAD 2011, CADworx, SP3D, PEMS, etc
Equipment layout design software; take a look at this: http://wang*bo.free3v.net/yanshi.html
Could you share Smartplant 3D and the review with me? QQ: 2222119, thank you!
