Hello everyone. The tetrafluoroethylene production unit in our company needs a flow meter to be installed on the tetrafluoroethylene collection pipe of the distillation tower. Since tetrafluoroethylene is a flammable and explosive gas of Category 2.1, with a pressure of around 0.85 Mpa and a pipe diameter of DN50, what type of flow meter would be suitable? Could an ultrasonic flow meter be used? The medium inside the pipe is tetrafluoroethylene liquid at 0.85 Mpa, with a small amount of gas phase. The flow rate is around 800 kg per hour.
For this tetrafluoroethylene liquid containing a small amount of gas, it is recommended that you choose the CMF series Coriolis mass flow meter directly.
Can your tetrafluoroethylene monomer be transported in tanks?
Tetrafluoroethylene cannot be transported in tanks; it must be stored at low temperatures, below -25°C. In gaseous form, it can be transported via pipelines, but the distance between the sources cannot exceed 200 mm. When transported as a gas at low temperatures (below -10°C), the transmission distance can reach 2000 meters. But a polymerization inhibitor must be added in all cases.
