I would like to ask about the principle of heat-free regenerative adsorption-type compressed air dryers, as well as the operation process of the four valves. What exactly is meant by adsorption and regeneration? I’ve never understood it. . .
Here is the working principle of the model we use; please take a look: A heat-free adsorption type compressed air dryer is a device that dries compressed air based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption. Under certain pressure, compressed air flows from bottom to top through the adsorbent (drying) bed; at low temperature and high pressure, the water vapor in the compressed air moves toward the surface of the adsorbent, whereby the adsorbent absorbs the moisture from the air until equilibrium is reached, thus drying the compressed air. This is the adsorption (operational) process. When dry air with reduced pressure (regeneration air) comes into contact with the adsorbent saturated with absorbed moisture, the moisture in the adsorbent is transferred to the regeneration air until equilibrium is reached, thereby drying the adsorbent; this is the adsorption regeneration process. That is, water is adsorbed (operating) under low temperature or high pressure, and water is desorbed (regeneration) under high temperature or low pressure. The dryer has a double-tube structure, with the tubes filled with adsorbent. While one adsorption tube is undergoing the drying process, the other tube is engaged in the desorption process.
