Gentlemen, is there a requirement that the height of chemical plant buildings should not exceed 24 meters? What if the process truly requires a factory building that is taller than 24m? How should this be handled?
It’s very common for chemical plant buildings to be over 24 meters in height. I’ve only heard that there are fire safety requirements regarding the length of such buildings, meaning they can’t be too long, but there are no strict restrictions on their height!
Reply to 1# feibiao101: I’ve never heard of it! I have seen many installations that are over 24 meters tall; for example, in caustic soda plants, the height of the third-stage evaporator is nearly 30 meters. Many other plants, such as sulfuric acid plants, also need to be over 24 meters tall.
What are the fire safety requirements regarding the length of factory buildings?
The building seismic design code specifies that the height of single-span structures shall not exceed 24 meters.
The single-story factory building is determined based on equipment and process requirements. The several air compressor plants built are all over 27 meters in height.
I don’t think there’s such a regulation; our factory also deals in the chemical industry, and we’ve just completed a building that is 29 meters tall.
Class A factories cannot exceed 24 meters, as stipulated in the building codes.
