During the normal operation of the Texaco gasifier, with a constant load, the slurry flow rate increases gradually, the temperature at the syngas outlet rises, and the volume of the purified syngas decreases. What could be the cause of this? Is it related to the slurry concentration?
It should be related to the slurry concentration; check whether there are large fluctuations in the liquid level and concentration in the slurry tank, as well as any changes in the speed and current of the slurry pump.
Personally, I suggest that you pay attention to monitoring the concentration of your slurry, and check whether the valves for the raw water in the small slurry pump pipeline as well as at the bottom of the large slurry tank are properly closed, and whether the blind plates are in place to ensure a proper cut-off. Based on the phenomena you described, an increase in the outlet flow rate while the speed of the large slurry pump remains unchanged indicates that the fluidity of the slurry is improving, and its concentration is gradually decreasing. Of course, this is also related to the level of material in your large slurry tank; as the level rises, the pressure at the inlet of the large slurry pump increases, which in turn leads to an increase in the outlet flow rate of the pump ; A decrease in the coal slurry concentration means that, with the same oxygen-to-coal ratio, the oxygen-to-carbon ratio increases. This leads to an increase in furnace temperature, i.e., an increase in the temperature at the outlet of the process gas. As the furnace temperature rises, the composition of the useful gas decreases; this is what you mean by a reduction in the amount of purified gas.
