The role of the high liquid oxygen level is to ensure that there is a certain amount of liquid for evaporation after the main pump stops, and to leave a certain buffer time for the backup pump to increase the load (the liquid level is determined by the manufacturer according to the heat exchanger and gas volume). Generally, the minimum design requirement for the auxiliary pump to go from cold standby to full load is 10 seconds. At the same time, it is the same without a liquid level gauge. As long as there is positive air flow, the remaining liquid oxygen in the high plate will be vaporized. If the backup pump load is increased quickly, it can ensure less pressure fluctuations. If there is a liquid level gauge, it will be more intuitive! At the same time, if there is a liquid level display, it can be adjusted according to the oxygen temperature!

As for the time it takes for the liquid oxygen backup pump to reach full load, if the function test is normal, there should be no problem during operation.
When I saw this process, I thought it was because the technology at that time was not good enough and snake tubes were used instead.

Sichuan Air does have such a design. The ideal design situation is to change the liquid oxygen level through the outlet valve control panel. As a result, the outlet valve is always fully open, and the liquid level changes according to the load.
Setting up the liquid level gauge is very simple. Just install positive and negative pressure sampling pipes at the liquid oxygen inlet and outlet of the plate heat exchanger and connect them to the differential pressure gauge. The measured pressure difference is converted into liquid level through a formula to ensure that the liquid level changes smoothly during normal operation. This ensures that the pressure changes smoothly during the initial start-up period. It is necessary to start the oxygen pump cold heat exchanger. When the liquid level changes steadily, the pressure of the oxygen pump can be ensured to be stable. The liquid level will increase as the oxygen flow increases. It is best not to retain the liquid level in the heat exchanger when parking. This will cause liquid oxygen oxidation and overpressure. In other words, the heat exchanger needs to be slightly reheated.
There are liquid levels in many processes of the high exchanger, but I don’t know how much the general liquid level control is based on the total height of the high exchanger...is it 80%?
