Reply to 1# Shumi2007: The valve with its stem exposed is an open-type valve, while the one whose stem is covered inside the housing and not visible is a closed-type valve
In a straight-stem valve, the valve stem moves up and down as the gate opens or closes; in a concealed-stem valve, the valve stem only rotates to cause the gate to move up and down, with no change in the position of the valve stem. Large-diameter or high/medium-pressure valves only come with visible stems, while low-pressure valves for non-corrosive media with a diameter of DN50 or less usually use hidden stems
