Does anyone know how the BDO project at Dalian Chemical (Jiangsu) is performing? Is its raw material, allyl alcohol, made from purchased propylene oxide? Did you start by using acrylic yourself? Thanks for the advice, expert!
By the way, who is working on the vacuum system?
Where is the process package? Is it the alkyne aldehyde method or the maleic anhydride method?
It is produced at the Dalian plant of Taiwan’s Dalian Chemical Company, with production scheduled to begin next year on May Day.
Taiwan’s Dalian has developed an acrolein-based process technology, which is similar to Lyondell’s technology; however, the company obtains its raw material acrolein from allyl acetate. Its chemical reaction is similar to that used in the acetoxylation of propylene to produce vinyl acetate. Allyl acetate is converted to allyl alcohol through dehydration, and the by-product acetic acid is recovered for recycling. 1) Formylation reaction (selectivity 80%) 2) Hydrogenation reaction (selectivity 98%)

Allyl alcohol is imported from Taiwan; it is produced starting from propylene, converted to allyl acetate, and then hydrolyzed to yield allyl alcohol
Dalian Chemical has designed its own process: it starts with propylene to produce allyl alcohol, which is then used to make BDO, and BDO is further used to produce PTG. I worked there for 10 years
Allyl alcohol is a highly toxic substance and cannot be transported via inland waterways. At present, Yizheng has an allyl alcohol production facility; the BDO produced in Yizheng, as well as that produced in Panjin, is supplied with allyl alcohol from Singapore!
It runs very stably at 110% load; designed by Dalian Chemical Industry itself!
Yizheng produces acrolein, 60,000 tons per year
