It was learned on September 14, 2011, that the \"Technical Specifications for Coal Chemical Industry Demonstration Projects during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period (Draft for Review)\\" has been approved at a meeting of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and has been officially submitted to the State Council; it is set to be issued and put into effect within this year. The stricter and more detailed requirements set out in the Guidelines for the construction of coal chemical demonstration projects will help promote the healthy and orderly development of China’s coal chemical industry. It is understood that this standard covers various aspects, including the Energy Efficiency and Resource Targets for Coal Chemical Industry Demonstration Projects during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the technical and equipment standards for such projects during the same period. Among them, the \"Energy Efficiency and Resource Targets\" specify the energy conversion efficiency, total energy consumption, and fresh water usage per ton of product for the demonstration projects in six key areas included in the 12th Five-Year Plan: coal indirect liquefaction, coal-to-natural gas, coal-to-olefins via methanol, coal-to-ammonia, coal-to-ethylene glycol, and the upgrading of low-quality coal. The energy conversion efficiencies for the aforementioned demonstration projects should be at least 42%, 52%, 35%, 42%, 25%, and 75%, respectively ; The comprehensive energy consumption per unit of product shall not exceed 4 tons (standard coal, the same below) per ton of oil products, 2.3 tons per thousand cubic meters, 5.7 tons per ton of olefins, 1.5 tons per ton of synthetic ammonia, and 2.4 tons per ton of ethylene glycol ; The fresh water consumption per unit of product shall not exceed 11 tons per ton of oil products, 6.9 tons per thousand cubic meters, 22 tons per ton of olefins, 6 tons per ton of synthetic ammonia, 9.6 tons per ton of ethylene glycol, and 0.15 tons per ton of standard coal. The \"Level of Technology and Equipment\" stipulates that coal chemical demonstration projects must give priority to the use of domestic technology and equipment. In addition, it is required that the capacity of a single production line for coal-based synthetic ammonia should be between 600,000 and 1 million tons per year. The capacity of single production lines for coal-based ethylene glycol, the upgrading of low-quality coal, high-temperature Fischer-Tropsch oil synthesis, and low-temperature Fischer-Tropsch oil synthesis should be at least 200,000 tons per year, 1 million tons per year, 1 million tons per year, and 1.8 million tons per year, respectively. It is also stipulated that if water-coal slurry gasification technology is used in the demonstration project, the pressure rating of the gasifier must be 8.7 MPa, with a coal feeding rate of 2,000–3,000 tons per day per gasifier ; If dry powder gasification technology (4 MPa or 6.5 MPa) is used, the coal feeding rate per furnace must be at least 2,000 tons per day ; If the fixed-bed pressurized gasification technology is used, the pressure level of the gasifier should be above 4 MPa, and the coal feeding rate per gasifier should be no less than 800 tons per day.
Domestic equipment is not yet able to meet the requirements of the coal chemical industry 100%; many valves that are functioning properly today are imported ones. It is truly hoped that domestic manufacturers will make further efforts to displace foreign products from the Chinese market
When dry powder gasification technology (4 MPa or 6.5 MPa) is used, the coal feeding rate per furnace must reach 2,000 tons per day. Is this technology available in China?

Hehe, regarding water-coal slurry, apart from the four-nozzle system used at East China University of Science and Technology, Texaco’s single furnace cannot achieve the required capacity. .
