In the urea production process using the aqueous solution full-circulation method, many manufacturers install dimethyl ether preheaters as part of energy-saving upgrades. Dear sea friends, please share your experiences with it – what is the typical temperature of the preheated dimethyl liquid? What medium is used to preheat dimethyl liquid? Does it increase the heat load on the external cooler with each use?
The material requirements for the preheater in the dimethyl liquid system are high; 316L is generally used. It is also important to choose a reliable manufacturer, as otherwise leaks can occur frequently. My second branch office experiences frequent leaks, while the third and fourth branch offices are using it without any problems – the performance is good! The temperature is generally preheated to around 90 degrees

Reply to 3# ty0ty00: Using binary vapor as the heating medium reduces the external cooling load during absorption and the absorption load in the second stage – that’s great! ! ! But the quality of the equipment must be good!
We use pre-distilled vapor for preheating; the temperature of this pre-distilled vapor is around 125. After mixing with dimethyl liquid, it enters the first-stage evaporation heater where heat exchange occurs (to preheat the material separated in step two), and the temperature of the resulting mixture is approximately 100. Then it goes into the medium-pressure absorption tower as the absorbent fluid.
