The Sinopec Guizhou coal chemical project has a total investment of 54 billion yuan; it will produce 5.4 million tons of methanol and 1.8 million tons of polyolefins per year. The project is being built in three phases. The first phase of the project requires an investment of 18 billion yuan; it will have an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of polyolefins (300,000 tons of polyethylene and 300,000 tons of polypropylene). The foundation-laying ceremony for this project will take place on September 28th. . Note # ) # # , . hcbbs
May I ask which process is used for 300,000 tons of polyethylene and 300,000 tons of polypropylene respectively?
Reply 2# PCMA must be the MTO technology developed by Sinopec itself!
The Sinopec Guizhou Zhijin 600,000-ton/year polyolefin project has a total investment of 18 billion yuan. It is located in the New Energy and Chemical Industry Base of the Bijie Zhijin Circular Economy New Area in the Bijie region, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of polyolefins. In May 2010, the provincial ** and Sinopec jointly submitted the project approval application report to the ** Development and Reform Commission. The supporting requirements for the project have been prepared and will be submitted to the **relevant ministries in the near future. With the rapid development of the plastic processing industry, the demand for high-performance and high-value-added products is increasing steadily, and new applications for polyolefins are continuously being developed, offering great potential for market growth. The coal used for production comes from the Zhijin mining area, which was developed by Bijie Zhongcheng Energy Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Sinopec and Guizhou Shuicheng Mining Group. Once fully operational, this facility will be able to produce 20 million tons of coal per year, ensuring a stable supply of coal ; The site is located near the Hongjiadu Reservoir (with a total storage capacity of 4.9 billion m3 and 2.6 billion m3 of water available for flexible use), which ensures an adequate supply of water. The project is in line with **macroeconomic policies and the direction of industrial development. The total investment in the project is 18 billion yuan, with annual sales revenue of 5 billion yuan and annual profits and taxes of 1.5 billion yuan; it also creates 20,000 jobs.
The construction of Sinopec’s 600,000-ton/year polyolefin project in Zijin, Guizhou is in full swing. Author: Liu Liao. Source: Bijie Daily. Update date: 2011-8-15. On the afternoon of July 14, a meeting to discuss the site selection for Sinopec’s 600,000-ton/year polyolefin project in Zijin, Guizhou, was held at the Sinopec Group headquarters in Beijing. After comparing the potential sites for the project, the meeting decided on Moda Village in Chadian Township as the new location. Liu Xiangdong, Deputy Director of Sinopec’s Development Planning Department and Director of the New Energy Office; Zhang Jiyong, Deputy Secretary of the Regional Party Committee and Commissioner of the Administrative Office; Wu Yong, Member of the Regional Party Committee and Executive Deputy Commissioner of the Administrative Office; and Zuo Jiguang, the construction supervisor for Sinopec’s Chuanwei Plant’s Zhijin project, attended the demonstration meeting. Sinopec’s polyolefin project in Zhijin, Guizhou is the largest investment project attracted to the Bijie region by a central state-owned enterprise. It is also a key project that serves to implement the strategy of strengthening the industrial sector, transform the mode of development, and promote leapfrog progress, with a total investment of 18 billion yuan. The project is located in the new energy and chemical industry base of the Zhijin Circular Economy New Area, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of polyolefins. The province ** and Sinopec have jointly submitted the approval report for the project application to the ** National Development and Reform Commission; all the necessary supporting documents for the project have been prepared, and the project evaluation report was also submitted to the ** National Development and Reform Commission at the end of May this year. On May 6, the Sinopec Beijing Environmental Protection Center organized a project technical consultation meeting in Guiyang. Some of the experts present noted that the hydrogeological conditions of the proposed site were complex, and suggested selecting another location instead. After two months of field investigations, experts from the Southwest Survey and Design Institute of the Nuclear Industry Ministry, which is responsible for site selection, and from China University of Geosciences recommended Moda Village in Chadian Township as the location for the project. At the seminar, Zhang Jiyong expressed his sincere gratitude to the experts for their long-term hard work. He pointed out that the 600,000 tons per year polyolefin project in Zhijin, Guizhou, is an important project for the upgrading of modern coal chemical industry in China. It is also the second major project of its kind in the country after one built by Shenhua Group in Inner Mongolia. It represents a practical implementation of the goal set by Jia Qinglin to transform the economic development model in the Bijie region and create a new engine for economic growth there, thereby turning Bijie into an important new energy and chemical industry hub in southern China. The implementation of this project will enable the full utilization of the unique advantages posed by the combination of coal and water resources in Zhijin County, which are rich in such resources, and transform them into economic advantages swiftly. Therefore, authorities at all levels **will step up coordination and provide the necessary support to ensure that the project begins construction in mid-September. All departments at all levels should work backwards from this timeline to improve the relevant supporting conditions, striving to have the project completed and put into operation within two years of commencement. After carefully listening to the reports on the project’s environmental impact assessment, the route of the railway, and the assessments related to water resources, Liu Xiangdong pointed out that Sinopec’s 600,000 tons per year polyolefin project in Zhijin, Guizhou is a key demonstration project for Sinopec in the southwest region. It is necessary to carry out the construction of this project with high standards and a high level of quality, so as to promote the development of the enterprise while also contributing to the economic and social progress of the local area. Subsequently, Liu Xiangdong also made arrangements and directives regarding the work related to the project to the relevant responsible persons and experts in the project team. Wu Yong said that once the location for the project is finalized, the relevant local departments and the management committee of the Zhijin New Energy Chemical Industry Base will accelerate communication and coordination with Sinopec’s project team. Each party will carry out its duties to ensure that all preparations for the project’s commencement are completed on time, so that the project can start construction and operation as scheduled, ultimately becoming the largest modern coal chemical project in the province. Experts from Sinopec’s New Energy Department, the Southwest Survey and Design Institute of the Nuclear Industry Ministry, China University of Geosciences, as well as relevant officials from the Management Committee of the Zhijin New Energy and Chemical Industry Base attended the demonstration meeting.
300,000 tons of polyethylene and 300,000 tons of polypropylene, with an investment of 18 billion. It seems that the MTO process should be used for production, but it’s not clear whether the unipol process is employed for polypropylene and polyethylene. I don’t know if they are hiring technical staff or not, and when the recruitment will take place
Reply to 6# zhiyuan1100: A newly established project must be in great need of staff. What kind of technician are you?
What technologies are used for gasification, purification, and methanol production respectively?
Reply to 7# xunyuan119: I work with polypropylene and am involved in the entire infrastructure construction and commissioning phase.
Did Sinopec go to Guizhou to cause trouble? Perhaps they want to compete with CNPC for market share in the southwest to reduce costs? Do you really want to make the air for the local people in Guizhou smell strange?
Reply 10# qugd: When oil resources become scarce, people turn to coal chemical industry – it’s mainly about utilizing resources. Coal chemical industry is a necessary means of making use of resources, and these projects are quite large-scale! The project aims to produce 20 million tons of coal per year, but Guizhou Province will not limit itself to just coal mining; it is also necessary to boost the local economy. The investment required amounts to over 80 billion yuan, making it the largest project in Guizhou. This is only the first phase of the project, and coal mining has already begun. The problem of pollution exists no matter who tries to address it. It’s certainly better to have large state-owned enterprises like Sinopec take care of it, as they don’t face financial constraints; therefore, they should handle environmental protection issues more effectively so that it’s easier to manage other companies as well.
