Jet flooding is what foreigners call it; in essence, it is what we refer to as foam-entrained flooding.
There are two types of flooding rates: one is the liquid spraying flooding rate on the tray plates, also known as the mist entrainment flooding rate; The English name is JET FLooding ; The other is the downcomer flooding ratio; the former represents the ratio of the liquid phase volume on a tray to the space between trays, with it being generally required that the flooding caused by the sprayed liquid not exceed 80% ; The latter represents the value of the liquid phase height in the downcomer divided by the spatial height of the downcomer; the reference value is also 80%. When the spray flooding ratio exceeds 100%, liquid phase backmixing occurs, resulting in a decrease in the efficiency of the tray ; When the flooding ratio of the downcomer exceeds 100%, the downcomer becomes flooded, the liquid layer on the tray thickens, and the pressure drop increases.
