What is a request for quote? Are there any things to note when issuing a request for quote?
Make a list of the materials or equipment you need to purchase, including all the specifications, dimensions, material grades, and other requirements for the materials; also specify all the performance parameters and constraints related to the equipment. Send this list to the other party and wait for them to provide a quote.

As the name suggests, it is a document for inquiring (consulting or asking) about prices; it lists the required materials, specifications, standards, requirements, quantities, etc., and requests that the distributor or manufacturer provide a quote in response. The counterpart to this is a quotation sheet.
