I have a high-pressure return valve here that isn’t fully open; its opening degree is around 30%. The expansion engine bearings burned out, and it took six seconds to fix the issue, at a cost of over a hundred thousand. Actually, there was no speeding; it’s just that the speed increased too quickly. I wasn’t there at the time; later, when I used a stethoscope, I heard the bearings making noise, so I stopped it right away.

It’s just that they are not familiar with the operating procedures and do not know the minimum standards for operation. Oxygen generation equipment is diverse, which increases the likelihood of accidents. Here, I don’t distinguish between air separation and compression; there’s so much to master. One of the startup conditions is that the return valve must be fully open; if it isn’t fully open, overspeeding is likely to occur!
When starting the expander, the return valve must be fully open, just like when starting an air compressor. Isn’t this included in your expander startup control logic? You can’t open it if the conditions aren’t met; it’s really like there are wonders of every kind here:o
When domestic expanders are started, the return valve on the pressurizer serves as a starting condition. Currently, the diameter of the return valve at the pressurizing end of imported expanders is very small; in some cases, the return pipeline at that end is even removed, with only more starting interlocks in place for starting the equipment
The interlock isn’t working properly! ! It should still be possible to get it running in this situation; it’s recommended to reconfigure it!
