Disadvantages of magnetic pump 1. The efficiency of a magnetic pump is lower than that of a conventional centrifugal pump. 2. Higher requirements are placed on the materials and manufacturing standards of the isolation sleeve to prevent one-sided leakage. If the material is not properly selected or the manufacturing quality is poor, the isolation sleeve cannot withstand the friction from the internal and external magnets and wears out easily; once it ruptures, the medium being transported will leak out. 3. Due to limitations related to materials and magnetic drive, magnetic pumps are generally used in China only for transporting fluids at temperatures below 100°C and pressures below 1.6 Mpa. 4. Since the wear resistance of the isolation sleeve material is generally poor, magnetic pumps are typically used to transport media that do not contain solid particles. 5. The coupling requires high alignment; improper alignment can lead to damage to the bearings at the inlet and wear of the seal sleeve designed to prevent one-sided leakage.
