I would like to ask fellow sailors: what is the difference between needle valves J11 and J13? Both of them use internal threading for connection; the first type has a straight-through design. What does the number 3 in J13 represent? I saw in previous posts that some people said it represents a corner type, but according to valve naming conventions, 4 is the one that denotes a corner type; there is no such thing as 3 in the structural types of globe valves. What does this mean?
11 and 13 differ only in their flow channels from the straight-through type: the channel in 11 is basically straight, while that in 13 is Z-shaped; it is estimated that the latter has better adjustment performance.

Reply to 4# zhouhf78: In the chemical engineering manuals and standards I’ve seen, the materials used for the valve seat sealing surfaces are indicated by letters; for example, in J13W, the letter W indicates that the valve seat sealing surface is machined directly from the valve body. Where did you get this idea?

J: Stop valve; 1: Internal thread; 3: Flow channel in Z shape; W: The valve seat sealing surface is formed directly from the valve body (the material of the valve seat sealing surface is the same as that of the valve body; this code is commonly used for stainless steel valves); 160: Nominal pressure: PN16.0 Mpa; P: The valve body is made of stainless steel; since needle valves generally have forged valve bodies, the material should be F304.
