Reply to 3# 540649243: Do you use single-stage oil-water phase separation, or multiple water extraction steps? For single-stage phase separation, there is no need for water-phase reflux; if reflux is necessary, a portion of the water phase can be sent back using a splitter (FSplit in Splitters).
I believe it is not possible to use FSplit from the Splitters module for separating water, as the function of this module is to mix material flows, heat flows, or energy flows of the same type and then divide the resulting flow into two or more flows of the same type; all the outlet flows have the same composition and conditions as the mixed inlet flow. However, sep or sep2 from the Separators module can be used to separate water, as these two modules allow for the specification of the composition of the outlet flows.

To remove water from the organic phase, one cannot use FSplit in Splitters; instead, Flash2 should be used to calculate the water removal based on liquid-liquid phase equilibrium. A friend on the 3rd floor said that part of the water needed to be recycled, which is why I suggested that FSplit could be used to separate a portion of the aqueous phase generated by Flash2 and send it back for recycling.
