I’ve looked for such books before as well, but it seems there aren’t any specialized books on this topic; in particular, I can’t find any that provide detailed information on the methanation process. I’ve read a book titled “Handbook of Modern Coal Chemical Engineering Technology” which could serve as a reference. Its content covers coal gasification, coking, purification, and coal liquefaction. For methanation, one can refer to the processes used in ammonia synthesis and methanol production – the basic procedures are similar, with the differences lying in the choice of catalysts and the control of synthesis conditions.
