I have been working in design for less than half a year and have worked on a few projects, though none of them have been completed yet. Regarding the depth and breadth of knowledge that the engineering field requires in areas such as civil structures, electrical systems, instrumentation, and HVAC, I hope everyone can offer some insights. This is how I did it: 1. The process manual, which contains a lot of information on equipment, instruments, and HVAC systems; sometimes it seems too general ; 2. Various professional manuals that detail the knowledge required for each specialty; download these manuals and relevant standards for different fields, such as those for instrumentation engineering or electrical engineering. I’m really interested in knowing if there is any manual that provides a detailed and in-depth coverage of all the aspects that should be learned in the field of process engineering – one that is specifically designed for professionals in this area
It’s not bad to learn a bit about it. In our case, there are significant differences in some situations between the basic design of the equipment infrastructure (civil engineering) and the design for the arrangement of the equipment itself. Ah, the drawings for equipment arrangement arrived late; since the equipment arrangement needs to match the process piping diagrams, we had to redo the infrastructure work, which is a waste of resources. There is also process and instrumentation; when designing instruments, having knowledge of the production process enables the design of instruments that are easy to maintain and replace without disrupting production. Instrument selection is carried out based on the requirements specified by the process. Process engineering and HVAC – one is above ground and the other below; they need to be connected later, and it’s better if there is no misalignment in the design of these two fields. There is also HVAC and civil engineering; for some buildings in chemical plants, pilings are required, and sometimes additional pilings are needed. If the location of underground pipes is not known, the work that has already been done can be damaged. . . Let’s stop at that for now
