There is a coal chemical project that utilizes water-coal slurry gasification technology; the main projects include those for methanol, acetic acid, vinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, BDO, and acetylene. I have never been involved in coal chemical industry before, and I have a few questions that concern me; I hope everyone will be kind enough to share their insights! 1: How are the six products, including methanol, acetic acid, and BDO, produced? Are they obtained through the decomposition of gasified material followed by separation, or are they synthesized using gasification products? 2: What substances are generated during the gasification process and the production of six products such as methanol that can pose a threat to the biological treatment of wastewater? If so, in which products are harmful substances generated? 3: Can methanol wastewater be reused directly as water for coal slurry gasification without any treatment? Thank you so much!
Thirdly, methanol waste liquid can be used directly as water for coal slurry grinding without treatment, but it is best to remove the wax first.
I think the question posed by the original poster is excellent; it’s a problem that every emerging company or one transitioning to a new business area must face. Moreover, there are numerous possible product pathways after gasification, and it’s indeed crucial to find the development path that suits the company’s own needs;
1. The gases generated during the gasification of water-coal slurry, such as useful synthesis gases (carbon monoxide and hydrogen), are subjected to conversion and purification to produce pure synthetic gas, which is then used in the synthesis workshop to manufacture products. All six products are obtained through synthesis reactions based on specific chemical equations. 2. All chemical plants pose hazards to the environment and living organisms, as they need to discharge industrial waste; the difference lies only in the extent of those hazards. 3. Yes, our company uses methanol waste and system graywater directly as water for coal slurry preparation.

Dear colleagues, paraffin has a low freezing point and the temperature of the gray water is high; careful observation shows that wax removal is more effective in winter, but it can easily cause blockages in the methanol waste liquid pipes. In other seasons, the poor dewaxing effect can cause many problems in coal slurry preparation. The presence of paraffin on the drum screen is another important cause of slurry leakage in the mill.
This problem cannot be solved by vaporization; you can go to the methanol plant to modify the dewaxing tank!
