What is the difference between the Measurement Range of a mass flowmeter sensor and the Calibration Flow Range of the transmitter? Do other types of flowmeters also have a Measurement Range and a Calibration Flow Range?
Measurement Range: Should this refer to the instrument’s measurement range, that is, the range over which the instrument can take readings? For example, the range might be 0~10000 kg/h. Calibration Flow Range: This refers to the flow rate at which the scale is calibrated, based on the maximum normal flow rate of the medium to be measured. Even though the instrument’s measurement range is 10000, the scale may only cover a range of 0~2000 kg/h
Reply to 2# yi*ao20002005: It’s the same idea – the Calibration Flow Range is used, for example, for calibrating flow meters, or to determine the measurement range of transmitters (which is selected based on the process conditions). When the process conditions change and the value does not exceed the Measurement Range but does exceed the Calibration Flow Range, is it sufficient to simply adjust the Calibration Flow Range of the transmitter? Sensors and transmitters are different. A sensor is a detection device that can sense the information to be measured, and it converts the sensed information into electrical signals or other forms of information as required, in accordance with certain rules, in order to meet the needs for information transmission, processing, storage, display, recording, and control. A transmitter is also a type of sensing device that can detect the information to be measured; however, it converts the detected information into standard signal forms (0~10mA, 4~20mA) for output, in order to meet the requirements for information transmission, processing, storage, display, recording, and control.
All flowmeters have a Calibration Flow Range and a Measurement Range.
