A couple of days ago, I received 4 stainless steel units, and I noticed that carbon steel bolts were used on the door covers. The drawings also indicated that carbon steel bolts should be used. An experienced technician said that carbon steel bolts cannot be used; I would appreciate everyone’s advice on this matter.
Replacing the bolts with stainless steel may result in insufficient bolt strength; a redesign by the design team is required before making such a change.

If it is removed frequently and does not come into direct contact with corrosive substances, carbon steel can be used; stainless steel screws tend to get stuck (glued together).

The strength of stainless steel and carbon steel bolts depends on the material used; refer to Table 4-7 in GB150-1998 for the allowable stress of bolts
It mainly depends on where it will be used; carbon steel bolts cannot be used in low-temperature environments. If the equipment is at room temperature, using carbon steel is absolutely no problem

Under normal circumstances, the fasteners used to secure stainless steel equipment outdoors can be made of carbon steel; if aesthetics are a concern, galvanized carbon steel can be used. Stainless steel fasteners, as someone mentioned above, can easily get stuck. If it is not a cryogenic device, not of sanitary grade, and does not contain internal components, then using fasteners made of carbon steel is generally fine.
Depending on the operating conditions, some stainless steel equipment is equipped with carbon steel bolts; many of our stainless steel devices that operate at normal pressure or at low pressures use carbon steel bolts. To facilitate disassembly in the future, bolt size 8 is often used. Grade 8 high-strength bolts.
