All the coal blending parameters of our unit are satisfactory, but the M10 value of the coke is too high. What could be the reason? The volatile matter content is less than 31.5, the Y value is around 12, the G value is around 70, and the lean coking degree is 15%.

There are many factors that affect M10, such as the coal blending ratio, fineness, coking time, and the method of quenching the coke. I agree with the opinion above; to add, is the data for your M10 accurate? It is recommended to reduce the volatile content; when the porosity of the coke is high, M10 performance is not good.

Thank you to all my fellow sailors. The shrinkage value is around 20, and the coking time is over 60 hours; it’s likely due to high volatile content.
