I would like to ask fellow industry professionals: how is the fire separation distance between pumps determined? The design fire protection codes for petrochemical enterprises do not provide specific figures on this. It simply states that for devices using a certain medium, the safety distance should be determined based on the level of that medium. So, specifically as for the fire separation distance between devices, how can it be quantified?
If relative distances are not specified in mandatory standards such as GB50160 and GB50016, the design can be carried out based on on-site operations and design experience.
There are no specific requirements in the specifications regarding the spacing between pumps of the same type. However, the following factors generally need to be considered in the design: 1. The installation requirements of the pumps themselves (height, net positive suction head, etc.); 2. The space required for installing and maintaining the equipment; 3. When pumps operate in parallel, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline systems are as parallel as possible
Typically, design documents only provide recommended distances; taking into account the information on the 3rd floor, it is already quite comprehensive
