The energy efficiency of turbines in recovering propylene carbonate is very low, reaching at most 20%. Moreover, the operation of these turbines is unstable; their overrunning clutches often get damaged, and the costs associated with them are high. According to investigations, most enterprises across the country that owned turbo-turbines have shut them down and are no longer using them.
