Vent valves are generally installed on horizontal straight sections and mounted vertically, but how should they be installed on vertical sections? Can a vent valve be installed on a pipe elbow?
The first part of what the original poster said is correct – the relief valve is generally installed vertically, with a vent opening created at the elbow portion in front of the valve. It cannot be installed on vertical pipes
