On the role of information technology in safety management

My current job is related to the informatization of safety management; I have just returned from working on-site, and I hope everyone can offer some good suggestions as well as share their understanding of the concept of safety management informatization.
Informatization refers to the historical process of fostering and developing new productive forces represented by computer-based intelligent tools, and putting them to use for the benefit of society. (Intelligent tools are also known as information-based production tools.) It generally must have the functions of information acquisition, information transmission, information processing, information regeneration, and information utilization. Productivity that is adapted to intelligent tools is known as information-based productivity. What distinguishes intelligent production tools from the production tools of the past is that they are not isolated entities; rather, they constitute a large-scale, top-down, organized information network system. Such network-based production tools will change people’s ways of producing, working, learning, communicating, living, and thinking, bringing about extremely profound changes in human society.
