The density of our asphalt is greater than 1.1 g/cm3. Let’s see what good testing methods are available
There are many methods: 1. Hydrometer; 2. Liquid specific gravity balance (relatively expensive); 3. A measuring cylinder and a balance – that’s enough. Mass/volume, okay?
Another method is the 1. Mixed density approach: diesel is used as a diluent; equal volumes of asphalt and diesel are mixed at the same temperature, and the density of the mixture is measured using a densitometer, from which the density of the asphalt can be calculated. 2. Hydrometer method
Reply to 1# hjkupc: The rotational viscometer method can be used, as well as the Engler viscometry method
Does it refer to the density and concentration of petroleum asphalt during the production process?
Reply to 4# woshizenghao: Read the question carefully before answering. Only your company uses a viscometer to measure density; I’m not sure whether it’s because of your high standards or something unusual.
Reply to 5# Mingye Technology: If you are not familiar with the concepts of density and concentration, it is best to find a book on asphalt or petroleum products to study them*. In the owner’s sample, the asphalt concentration is 100%, but the density of asphalt varies depending on its type or the processing method used.

When asphalt is too viscous or in a cooled state..., I’m afraid there’s no way to measure its volume using a measuring cylinder, right? 2. Russia believes it would be feasible to treat high-viscosity asphalt as a solid substance similar to ore, and to use the gas displacement method to determine its volume without any physical contact, after which its mass can be measured in order to calculate the density. 3. By using this gas displacement method, Russia has been able to determine the porosity of foam boards, the moisture content of coke, as well as the wear level of engine chambers. This method allows for the analysis of one sample in about 1 minute. 4. Hehe.
